I’m not using any of these Raspberry Pi CAN Bus shields, but I think that this list can help other people find them easily.
I’ll try to make a technical comparison between them, for the moment I will just share information provided by suppliers.
- CANBerry by Industrial Berry (19€)
Good/Bad thing : This shield can be used for Raspberry Pi and also Arduino or Galileo, but you need additional shield (that costs 40€) to connect it to your board, and also a DB9 connector to CAN Bus.
I assume that this shield is made mainly for industrial use.
- PiCAN by SK Pang (£32.28)
Another well-documented shield, schematics and binaries are provided.
Both CAN Bus DB9 and screw terminal are supported.
Additional LED/push buttons provided for easy to use.
- CANPi by RasmusB (self-made)
This was a Hackaday project, additional information about HW/SW are in GitHub release.
You can make your own by ordering PCB at OSH Park, someones already made a BOM at Mouser.com.
This shield uses an isolated CAN transceiver ADM3054 (instead of MCP2551)
I’ll update the list as soon as I find new ones, please let me know if you find also.
